Fireworks and the Consumer

Watching fireworks can be great fun for children. But figures have shown that, more often than not, it’s children rather than adults who get hurt by fireworks

Don’t put your family at risk. ensure that you buy your fireworks from a reputable retail outlet, there is agrowing trend for fireworks to be sold at pub car parks, car boot sales, Sunday markets and from white vans. Local Trading Standards are aware of this and will continue to enforce the law whenever and wherever this illegal trading occurs.

If you’re planning your own celebration using fireworks, make sure it's safe and doesn’t break the law by reading the information on Directgov. Firework safety and the law

Bonfire Night is a worrying time for pet owners, the BFA has worked in conjuction with The Blue Cross, Britains Pet Charity, to distribute a leaflet highlighting the problems for pets and their owners at this time of year. You can view more information at The Blue Cross.
